Columbia Aged Care, a leading and innovative aged care provider, is seeking a passionate and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our team at our 66-bed aged care facility in beautiful Oberon.
About the Role:
As our Maintenance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents live in a safe, comfortable, and homelike environment. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Performing planned and unplanned maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Completing tasks such as replacing light globes, unblocking toilets and drains, changing tap washers, moving furniture, painting, waste disposal, and general cleaning.
- Coordinating and maintaining records using our management systems.
- Ensuring all maintenance work complies with corporate standards and WHS guidelines.
- Liaising with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks.
- Supervising contractors, ensuring site inductions and safe work practices.
- Communicating effectively and empathetically with residents, staff, and families.
- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Standards and adhere to ongoing quality, WHS and training requirements.
We are looking for someone with:
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role or a trade qualification in a maintenance discipline.
- Must have a Valid Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to starting
- A valid Driver's License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, systematic, and thorough work habits.
- A proactive and can-do attitude with a commitment to achieving goals.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of building and workplace health and safety legislation.
- Computer skills.
