We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Governance and Compliance Manager to lead our efforts in ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory adherence. Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust clinical governance framework aligned with the ACQSC Strengthened Standards, ensuring it prioritizes the safety and well-being of consumers. 
  • Oversee internal audits and compliance activities, identifying and mitigating potential risks related to clinical practice and consumer care. 
  • Analyze trends in clinical data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the quality and safety of care delivered to consumers. 
  • Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and coaching to clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practice in consumer care.
  • Liaise with facility leadership teams to ensure alignment with the ACQSC Standards and best practice guidelines, with a focus on consumer-centered care. Lead the development and implementation of strategies to achieve this alignment. 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting systems to monitor compliance, identify trends in consumer care, and report to senior management. 
  • Manage and investigate any complaints or incidents related to consumer care, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution. 
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry best practices in aged care, and advocate for continuous quality improvement initiatives that prioritize consumer well-being. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for clinical governance and compliance

Skills and Experience: 

  • Registered nurse with a minimum of 10 years of experience in aged care, with significant experience in senior leadership roles. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the Strengthened Standards, aged care legislation, and best practices in clinical governance and compliance. 
  • Proven experience in leading and managing clinical governance frameworks. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate staff at all levels. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Desirable Skills: 

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nursing Management, Health Administration).
  • Experience in conducting audits and investigations in a healthcare setting. 
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching clinical staff.
